the mountain

11.10.2010

In our lifetime, mountain must be climbed
one with no roadmap, just founded on trust.
You don’t know where you are going;
you never know when you’ll reach the peak.
Death is an unwavering truth.
It waits for us, grasps us by the hand and leads us down the other side of the mountain.
It unifies crowds of people. Through all mourning and loss, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
Life is a gift.
The present is indeed a present.
We are given time, in which we share with people,
time is priceless, boundless and stable.
It never ends and probably never even began.
Time takes us on a journey.
We meet people. Love people and continue on.
And throughout this time we are never alone
there is always someone alongside us.
Weather it be millions or just God. There will be someone
leading us up the mountain to the peak.
Whoever may be there, holding your hand, has a purpose.

Tonight, Jason Pick reached the peak of the mountain, Hand in hand, he and only God descended as millions watched, proud and sad- we don’t want him to leave.
He has not lost his battle with cancer.
We are all still fighting for him- with him
and we won’t stop trying until we find the cure.
Death is a funny thing. It can unite huge groups of people for a certain cause.
I know at least a million who were watching Jason, proud… but sad… devastated, wanting him to keep fighting with us.
But he is still fighting with us.
He gave us direction to continue. And we will.
Because
We all hate cancer.
